Zoho Analytics in Denmark

Webshop, ledger and pipeline in one management view

What can Zoho Analytics do for a Danish company's reporting?

For a Danish company, Zoho Analytics can bring together ledger data from e-conomic, Dinero, Business Central or Zoho Books with webshop, marketplace, CRM and project data, so owners can follow sales, margin and liquidity for every company in a holding structure. I agree KPI definitions, design krone and euro views and set row-level access. Delivery is remote and vendor-neutral, and I flag plainly the problems no dashboard will solve.

Last reviewed by Vikas Saroj

A Danish brand selling through its own webshop, marketplaces and retailers, or a services group with a holding company above several operating companies, can end up with reporting assembled by hand every month. Sales numbers come from one platform, costs from the ledger and pipeline from the CRM, and they rarely agree.

I work remotely with Danish finance and leadership teams to build that reporting in Zoho Analytics, starting from agreed definitions and data routes, and checking each total against the ledger before anyone relies on it. Definitions come first, charts second.

What I Do

Zoho Analytics services for Danish companies

I start with what management needs to decide, then work back to sources, definitions and access.

Source Mapping

An inventory of the ledger, webshop, marketplaces, CRM and spreadsheets that feed management reporting, with the route each one takes into Zoho Analytics and its owner.

Channel Margin Model

Sales by channel joined with returns, marketplace fees and cost of goods, so management can compare webshop, marketplace and wholesale margins on consistent, written definitions.

Group and Holding Views

Each company in a holding structure mapped to common report lines, with intercompany items flagged, giving owners and leadership a management view across the whole group.

Currency Rules

Krone reporting with euro and other currency sales translated by a rule your controller sets, stated on each dashboard and kept apart from statutory figures.

Access Design

Row-level filters so company managers, channel leads and project managers see their own figures, with customer and employee personal data kept out of the reporting model.

Dashboards and Upkeep

Separate views for owners, finance and channel leads, each checked against bookkeeping totals before launch, with a KPI dictionary and admin notes so whoever inherits them in your finance team can keep them accurate.

Ledger data from e-conomic, Dinero, Business Central or Zoho Books

Zoho's own apps, including Zoho Books, Zoho CRM and Zoho Projects, connect to Zoho Analytics through built-in connectors. Danish accounting systems are a separate question, and the answer shapes how dependable the reporting will be.

For each ledger I work through the options:

  • Native integration: ask Zoho if a ready-made link to e-conomic, Dinero or your ERP is on offer now, and which tables it would bring in.
  • Vendor API: Danish cloud bookkeeping products generally publish APIs, so a middleware service or a timed job can pull entries out. That route needs a named owner who notices when it stops.
  • Database or export: an ERP such as Business Central may offer data access routes or scheduled exports; your ERP partner can confirm what is supported.
  • Manual uploads: acceptable for budgets and forecasts, not for figures reviewed weekly.

Accounts then need mapping to management lines. Danish companies keep their own charts of accounts, often based on templates from their accounting software, so I agree a mapping table with your accountant that groups accounts into revenue by channel or business line, cost of goods, personnel, other operating costs and financial items. Statutory reporting, VAT and annual accounts remain in the ledger. If the ledger decision is still open, my Zoho Books in Denmark page covers it.

Webshop, marketplace and wholesale sales in one model

A Danish consumer brand may sell through their own webshop, through marketplaces in Denmark and abroad, and through retailers or distributors. Each channel reports differently: the webshop platform shows orders, a marketplace shows settlements net of fees, and wholesale sits as invoices in the ledger. Leadership wants to know which channel actually earns money.

In Zoho Analytics I build a channel model that brings these together:

  • Orders and returns from the webshop platform, through a connector or API where one exists, matched to the ledger's revenue.
  • Marketplace settlements broken into sales, commissions, fulfillment fees and refunds, so marketplace margin is shown after fees rather than at gross price.
  • Wholesale invoices from the ledger or CRM, tagged by customer and region.
  • Cost of goods from the inventory or ERP system, using the cost method your accountant applies.
  • Marketing spend by channel, so acquisition cost sits next to margin.

The hard part is definitions, not connectors. Is revenue recognized at order, shipment or settlement? Are returns netted in the month of sale or of return? I write these choices in a KPI dictionary agreed with finance. The link between ad spend and revenue connects with my paid marketing work, and the Zoho Inventory in Denmark page covers stock data.

Holding structures, kroner and euros

A Danish business may be organized as a holding company owning one or more operating companies, sometimes with subsidiaries in Sweden, Germany or elsewhere. Each company keeps its own books, which may be in different accounting systems or currencies. Owners and boards want a combined management view without waiting for the annual accounts.

Zoho Analytics can provide that view once a few rules are agreed:

  • Common report lines: each company's accounts mapped to the same management structure, so totals can be compared and added.
  • Reporting currency: kroner for most Danish groups, with euro and other currency figures translated using a rate source and method your controller chooses, noted on every dashboard.
  • Intercompany flags: management fees, internal sales and loans between group companies tagged so the group view can strip them out.
  • Company filter: every dashboard viewable for one company or the whole group.

This is a management view, not a consolidation for statutory purposes. Eliminations, ownership adjustments and audited group figures remain with your accountant or a group reporting tool. If multi-company accounting has become a daily burden, the ledger may need to change before reporting can improve; see ERP for multi-company and my ERP consultant Denmark page.

Who sees which company, and where the data is hosted

Once channel margins, customer profitability and group figures sit in one tool, who sees what becomes a real question. A company manager in a holding structure may not be entitled to see sister companies' numbers, and sales staff should not see each other's commission data.

I design access in Zoho Analytics around three ideas:

  • Dashboards by audience: owners and board, finance, channel leads and project managers each get dashboards built for their questions, shared deliberately.
  • Row-level filters: the same dashboard shows each manager only their company, channel or project, which avoids maintaining copies.
  • Minimal personal data: webshop customer names, email addresses and CPR-linked payroll data stay out of the reporting model. Customer analysis uses anonymized IDs or segments where possible.

Whatever personal data does end up in the analytics workspace falls under GDPR, so your privacy lead signs off its purpose and how long it stays. Zoho hosts accounts in several regions, an EU region among them, and the one you are in was fixed when the account was opened. Confirm with Zoho or the partner where your Zoho Analytics data is held, especially if your Zoho apps were set up at different times, and record the answer. Before the access model is fixed, I verify that your subscription tier actually includes the row filters and sharing options it relies on.

What dashboards cannot fix, and when to choose another tool

Zoho Analytics will show a Danish company's data more clearly than spreadsheets, including its errors. If marketplace settlements are posted as one lump sum, products are coded inconsistently between webshop and ledger, or deals are not closed in the CRM, the dashboards will disagree with what managers believe. Fixing that means changing the process upstream, and I spend part of every engagement tracing wrong figures back to their source and agreeing who corrects them.

Other limits to weigh honestly:

  • Refresh timing: scheduled syncs make dashboards suitable for daily or weekly management, not live stock or order control.
  • Microsoft-oriented companies: a company running Business Central through an ERP partner, with people who already build Power BI reports, may find that route more natural. I will say so.
  • Large data volumes: clickstream-scale webshop data or heavy reshaping is work for a proper data warehouse, which Zoho Analytics could then sit on top of.
  • No owners: if nobody is answerable for each measure, every department ends up with its own revenue figure.

No BI vendor pays me, Zoho included, so the choice rests on the tools and skills you already have. See also ERP for management dashboards, my Zoho consultant Denmark page and the Denmark hub. Sessions are held online during the Danish working day, and any Danish field names or dashboard titles are proofread by your own Danish-speaking staff.

FAQ

Questions About Zoho Analytics Consultant Denmark

Check with Zoho whether a built-in connector currently exists for your system. Failing that, data can be pulled through the vendor's API by middleware or arrive as a timed export file. I document each feed with an owner, refresh timing and a check that alerts someone if a load fails.

Yes, if marketplace settlements are broken into sales, commissions, fulfillment fees and refunds, and cost of goods comes from your inventory or ERP. The definitions, such as when revenue is recognized and how returns are treated, are agreed with finance and written into a KPI dictionary first.

It can provide a management view: each company mapped to common report lines, figures translated to kroner by your controller's rule, and intercompany items flagged. Statutory consolidation, eliminations and audited figures remain with your accountant or a group reporting tool.

A business already on Business Central, with analysts fluent in Power BI, could reasonably stay with Microsoft's tool. Where Zoho apps hold the bulk of your operational data and managers prefer to assemble their own reports, Zoho Analytics is the natural candidate. I compare both independently.
