Lead Generation

A lead engine your sales team can trust

What is B2B lead generation and marketing automation consulting?

B2B lead generation consulting designs and automates the path from first touch to a sales-ready opportunity. I build inbound and outbound processes, lead scoring models, nurturing sequences and marketing automation in tools such as Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Campaigns and HubSpot, with a clean handoff into your CRM. Everything is measured, so you can see which lead sources actually produce qualified opportunities and revenue.

Many B2B companies do not have a lead volume problem so much as a lead process problem. Inquiries arrive from the website, ads, events and outreach, but they are scored inconsistently, nurtured rarely and handed to sales without context. Good leads go cold while valuable sales time is spent chasing poor ones, and nobody can say which sources actually produce revenue.

I help businesses design and automate the full path from first touch to sales-ready opportunity. That covers inbound and outbound lead generation, lead scoring, nurturing sequences, marketing automation in tools such as Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Campaigns and HubSpot, and a clear handoff into your CRM.

I work remotely with B2B companies worldwide, starting with how your buyers actually make decisions and how your sales team works, then building a process and supporting automation that fits both rather than copying a generic funnel template. Everything is measured, so you can see which sources work.

What I Do

Lead generation services from first touch to handoff

Each piece supports the next. The aim is a repeatable process that produces qualified opportunities, not a pile of contacts.

B2B Lead Strategy

Defining your ideal customer profile, buyer roles, offers and channels, and agreeing with sales what a qualified lead looks like, so marketing and sales work toward the same definition.

Inbound Lead Generation

Content, search, gated resources, webinars and website conversion paths that attract buyers who are already researching your type of solution and give them a clear reason to get in touch.

Outbound Process

Targeted account lists, personalized multi-step sequences and clear rules for follow-up, designed to respect recipients and comply with email and privacy regulations in the markets you target.

Lead Scoring

Scoring models that combine fit, such as industry, company size and role, with engagement signals like page visits and email activity, so sales can prioritize leads most likely to convert.

Lead Nurturing

Automated email and content sequences for leads who are interested but not ready to talk yet, tailored by role, industry or stage, keeping your business in mind until timing is right.

Marketing Automation

Journeys, segments, forms, landing pages and triggers in Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Campaigns or HubSpot, configured around your process and connected cleanly to your CRM data.

CRM Handoff

Clear lifecycle stages, assignment rules, alerts and service levels for follow-up, so sales-ready leads reach the right person quickly with full context about their source and activity.

Conversion Optimization

Improving forms, landing pages, calls to action and follow-up timing using analytics and CRM data, so a higher share of interested visitors becomes real conversations with your sales team.

Lead generation is a business process, not a campaign

Lead generation often gets treated as a series of campaigns: a webinar here, an ad burst there, an outreach push when the pipeline looks thin. Each produces some activity, but without a consistent process behind them, results are hard to repeat and harder to measure.

I approach it the way I approach any business process. First, map how leads arrive today, who handles them, what happens next and where they get lost. Then agree definitions that marketing and sales both accept: what counts as a marketing-qualified lead, what makes a lead sales-ready, and how quickly each type should be followed up.

With that in place, the channels have a clear job. Inbound activities such as SEO, content and website conversion paths attract buyers who are already researching. Outbound outreach reaches well-matched accounts that are not yet looking. Paid campaigns accelerate both. All of them feed the same scoring, nurturing and handoff process, so leads are treated consistently regardless of where they came from.

The result is a pipeline you can understand and improve. When a source produces poor leads, you can see it. When follow-up is slow, you can see that too, and fix it before good opportunities go cold.

How I diagnose your current lead generation

Before recommending channels or tools, I look at how leads move through the business today. The diagnostic usually covers:

  • Ideal customer profile: which industries, company sizes, roles and problems produce your best customers, based on your closed deals rather than assumptions.
  • Lead sources: every channel that produces inquiries, from organic search and referrals to events, paid campaigns and outbound.
  • Lead journey: forms, routing rules, response times, qualification steps and the handoff into sales.
  • Data quality: duplicates, missing fields, unclear lifecycle stages and consent records in the CRM and marketing tools.
  • Feedback loop: whether sales outcomes are recorded and shared with marketing.

I map this as a simple funnel diagram with the drop-off points marked. In many businesses, the biggest losses are not at the top of the funnel but in the middle: slow follow-up, unclear ownership or leads that are never marked as qualified or disqualified.

The output is a findings summary and a prioritized plan. Some recommendations are about channels, such as B2B SEO or LinkedIn Ads. Many are about process and systems, which is where my background in CRM and business process work makes a practical difference.

Marketing automation that supports sales

Marketing automation is most useful when it reflects a clear process. Tools such as Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Campaigns and HubSpot can segment contacts, trigger journeys, track engagement and score leads, but they cannot decide what a good lead is or what your buyers need to hear. That has to come first.

When I set up automation, I focus on a few essentials:

  • Clean data: consistent fields, deduplication and clear consent records
  • Meaningful segments: based on role, industry, stage and behavior
  • Useful nurturing: content that answers real buyer questions, not generic newsletters
  • Transparent scoring: rules sales understands and can challenge
  • Reliable handoff: automatic routing and alerts in the CRM with full context

The connection with your CRM is critical. If marketing automation and CRM disagree on lifecycle stages or ownership, leads fall between the cracks. I design the integration so both systems share the same definitions, and closed outcomes feed back to marketing to refine scoring and targeting. For businesses on Zoho, this ties closely to my Zoho consulting and CRM consulting work. Email and privacy rules vary by country, so consent and opt-out handling are built in from the start.

What you receive and how it is implemented

Deliverables depend on scope, but a typical lead generation engagement produces a working system rather than a strategy deck.

  • Lead definitions: agreed criteria for each lifecycle stage, signed off by marketing and sales leadership.
  • Scoring model: fit and engagement criteria documented in plain language, then configured in the CRM or marketing automation platform.
  • Nurture journeys: sequences mapped to buyer stages and questions, with content briefs for any missing material.
  • Outbound playbook: target account criteria, sequences, messaging guidelines and rules for when outbound leads enter the CRM.
  • Routing and handoff: assignment rules, alerts and service levels for follow-up.
  • Dashboards: lead volume, conversion and pipeline by source.

Implementation happens in stages. Definitions and data cleanup come first, because scoring and automation depend on them. Then routing and handoff, then nurturing and scoring, then channel expansion. Each stage is tested with real leads before the next starts.

I configure tools such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Marketing Automation and HubSpot directly, or guide your team through the build. Where workflows span several systems, I use the same approach as my business automation work: clear rules, error handling and documentation.

Measuring lead generation against pipeline and revenue

Lead volume on its own is a poor measure of success. More leads can simply mean more unqualified inquiries for sales to sort through. I measure lead generation by what happens after the lead arrives.

The KPIs I set up typically include:

  • Lead to qualified rate by source, campaign and segment.
  • Speed to lead: time between inquiry and first meaningful sales contact.
  • Qualified to opportunity rate and the most common disqualification reasons.
  • Pipeline created and won revenue by original source.
  • Cost per qualified lead and cost per opportunity, where spend is involved.
  • Sales cycle length by source and segment.

To make these numbers reliable, original source, campaign and landing page must be captured at the first touch and preserved in the CRM, even when a lead is merged or converted. I design those fields and rules as part of the CRM setup, and feed qualified and won outcomes back to ad platforms where paid campaigns are involved.

Reviewing these KPIs monthly with sales and marketing together keeps both teams working from the same numbers. It turns lead generation from a debate about lead quality into a shared process you can improve step by step.

FAQ

Questions About Lead Generation

Most B2B companies benefit from both. Inbound attracts buyers already researching your type of solution, while outbound reaches well-matched accounts that are not actively looking yet. The right balance depends on your market size, deal value, sales capacity and how established your brand is. I help you decide based on those factors.

It depends on your CRM, team skills and requirements. If you already use Zoho CRM, Zoho Marketing Automation or Zoho Campaigns usually integrate most smoothly. HubSpot is a strong option, particularly where its CRM is also used. I compare options against your process rather than defaulting to one platform.

Lead scoring assigns points based on how well a lead fits your ideal customer profile and how engaged they are, helping sales prioritize. It is most useful once you have a steady flow of leads and enough history to know which signals matter. With very low volumes, simple qualification rules may be enough.

No. Lead volume and quality depend on your market, offer, budget, competition and sales follow-up. I commit to building a sound process, accurate tracking and automation that works reliably, and to improving it with data and sales feedback over time, rather than promising figures nobody can honestly guarantee.

Consent capture, opt-out handling and data retention are designed into forms, outreach and automation from the start. Regulations differ by country and region, so I align the setup with the markets you target and recommend that your legal advisor confirms specific obligations for your business.
