What technical SEO problems are common on Pune business websites?
Pune sites tend to break in recognizable ways: supplier sites built on page builders that carry malware or spam pages, IT and engineering firms with German or Japanese sections that search engines cannot pair correctly, companies whose site is being folded into a foreign parent's domain, dealer locators that crawlers cannot read, and education groups with many competing institute sites. Diagnosis happens remotely, and your developers get a written fix list.

A forging company's site built years ago by a local agency, an IT services firm with pages for clients in Stuttgart and Osaka, a vehicle brand's dealer locator and a university group's many institute sites have little in common, except that each can quietly stop search engines from understanding what the business offers.
Pune organizations hire me as a remote technical SEO consultant. My audits combine a full crawl with log files when you can share them, to pinpoint what blocks crawling, indexing or correct language targeting. I then write prioritized fixes your developers or agency can carry out, and verify that each one actually worked.
Each engagement starts with a crawl and a short list of the problems that hurt your visibility the hardest.
I find injected spam pages, hidden links and hijacked redirects on older sites, work with your developer on removal and hardening, and handle the reconsideration and reindexing steps.
On sites built with page builders and many plugins, I identify which ones slow pages, create duplicate URLs or block rendering, and recommend what to remove or replace.
For firms with German, Japanese or other language sections, I set up hreflang, URL structure and language detection rules so each audience reaches the right version.
When a site moves into a foreign parent's global domain, I map every valuable URL, specify redirects, and check that Indian products and contacts survive the move.
I review how dealer and service center pages are generated, make sure they can be crawled without running heavy scripts, and add accurate location structured data.
For education groups and companies with many sites, I decide which sites to keep, merge or retire, and how they should link, so they stop competing for the same searches.

Many Pune manufacturers and engineering suppliers have websites built some years ago by a small local agency, often on a content management system with a visual page builder and a long list of plugins. The agency may have moved on, nobody has updated the plugins, and the site still looks fine to the owner. Underneath, it may be running outdated software that attackers exploit to add spam pages, hidden links or redirects to unrelated sites.
Owners often learn about it only when a customer mentions odd search results, or when Search Console shows a security warning. By then, search engines may have indexed a large batch of junk pages under the company's domain. I check for these signs as part of every audit:
I work with your developer to clean the site, harden it and request review where needed. Even without an infection, removing unused plugins usually speeds up pages and reduces duplicate URLs, which helps both visitors and crawlers.
Pune has a long association with German and Japanese engineering groups, and many local IT and engineering services firms win work from clients in those countries. Their websites often carry German or Japanese sections aimed at those buyers. Technically, these sections are frequently set up in ways that confuse search engines: translated pages without hreflang tags, tags pointing to the wrong URLs, automatic redirects based on the visitor's location, or machine translations of only some pages.
I review the language setup as a whole. That includes choosing a clear URL structure for each language, adding hreflang annotations that pair equivalent pages correctly, avoiding forced redirects that stop crawlers seeing all versions, and making sure each language version has its own title tags, descriptions and internal links. Where only part of the site is translated, I check that untranslated pages do not claim language versions that do not exist.
The engagement runs in English. German, Japanese or other language copy is written or reviewed by fluent speakers on your team, at your client's side or through a translation partner, not generated and left unchecked. For the strategy side of selling abroad, see my international SEO strategy page.
A number of Pune engineering and component companies have become part of foreign groups over the years, and a common consequence is that the local website is folded into the parent's global domain. The decision is usually made at group level, with a global agency doing the work and limited knowledge of what the Indian site actually earned in search.
Done carelessly, this migration can wipe out years of visibility for Indian products, local service pages and contact details that Indian customers search for. I help the Indian team protect what matters:
I write these requirements in a form the global agency can act on, and keep the conversation factual rather than territorial. My SEO migration consulting page describes the general method.
Vehicle, two-wheeler, tractor and appliance brands with roots in the Pune region often maintain large dealer and service center networks across India. Their websites need location pages that let someone in a small town find the nearest dealer or workshop. Technically, these locators are often built as a single search box that loads results with scripts, which means search engines may see no dealer pages at all.
I review how location data reaches the page. Ideally, each dealer or service center has its own crawlable page with a clean URL, accurate address, phone number, opening information as the dealer provides it, and the services offered, plus structured data describing the location. City and state pages group dealers logically and link to each one.
The data side matters as much as the code. Closed dealers should be removed or redirected, duplicates merged, and changes synchronized with Google Business Profile listings managed by the dealers or the brand. I specify how the locator should be fed from the brand's dealer master, so pages stay accurate without manual edits. The multi-location local SEO page covers the listing side in more depth.
Pune's large private universities and education trusts often run many institutes under one name, each with its own website or subdomain, built at different times by different vendors. Over the years, old admission microsites stay live, faculty and course pages are copied between institutes, and prospectuses sit in PDFs that search engines index ahead of the real pages.
The result is a group whose sites compete with each other for the same searches, while prospective students land on outdated pages. I map every domain and subdomain the group controls, identify duplicate and near-duplicate pages, and recommend which sites to keep, consolidate or retire. For those that remain, I set clear roles, canonical tags where duplication is unavoidable, and internal links that point students to the current page for each program.
Admission periods add urgency, so I plan changes to land well before applications open and avoid risky releases during them. The work is remote, coordinated with the group's IT team and web vendors. For search planning beyond technical fixes, see my SEO consultant in Pune page, and for country-wide issues such as regional scripts and mobile performance, the technical SEO consultant in India page.

Common signs include unfamiliar pages appearing in search results under your domain, security warnings in Search Console, and redirects that only happen when visitors arrive from search. I check for these during an audit, then work with your developer on cleanup, hardening and any review request needed.
Usually because hreflang tags are missing or point to the wrong pages, or because redirects based on location prevent crawlers from seeing every version. I review the full language setup and specify corrections. The translated copy itself should be checked by fluent speakers on your side or a translation partner.
Ask for a complete URL inventory, a page-by-page redirect map, tested redirects before launch and post-launch monitoring. Make sure Indian products, addresses and contact details have a home on the new site. I can write these requirements for the global agency and track the results.
I specify changes precisely and verify them, but implementation is done by your developers, agency or the parent group's web team. That keeps changes within your release process. I review staging builds where possible and recrawl after each release to confirm the fix.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
