How does an Odoo CRM consultant help a Canadian company?
For a Canadian business running Odoo, a CRM consultant connects the sales pipeline to what the plant and warehouse can deliver: quotes with realistic lead times, tax driven by the destination province, Canadian or US dollar pricing, and orders that flow into manufacturing, shipping and invoicing. The work also covers dealer reorders, clean company records keyed on the Business Number, bilingual documents and whether a separate CRM should stay.

Many Canadian companies that choose Odoo make or assemble something: equipment, building products, food, packaging, custom fabrication. Their salespeople quote options, lead times and freight, and the order often triggers production rather than a simple pick from stock. A CRM that ends at a won deal leaves the hard part to email and the shop floor.
I work remotely with Canadian manufacturers, distributors and service firms to make Odoo CRM the start of that chain. Opportunities become quotations built from real products and price lists, and confirmed orders create the manufacturing orders, deliveries and invoices that follow, with tax applied for the province the goods are going to.
I am an independent consultant. I do not resell Odoo and I am not tied to any Canadian implementer, so my recommendations are about your sales process, not about a license, and I can say so when a dedicated CRM would serve your team better.
Each service connects the pipeline to operations, which is where Canadian Odoo projects most often lose time.
Quotation templates, optional products and product variants set up so reps quote standard configurations quickly and send custom work for engineering review through a defined stage.
Delivery dates on quotations based on stock, purchase and manufacturing lead times, with a rule for when a rep may promise a date and when planning must confirm it.
Delivery address and customer tax status captured on the opportunity, so the quotation applies the federal and provincial tax combination that the invoice will later use, without reps editing tax lines.
Separate Canadian and US dollar price lists, freight and duty terms on quotes to American buyers, and a US company in the same database where the group sells through one.
Repeat orders from dealers and distributors through quotations, the customer portal or a B2B shop, kept out of the new business pipeline so the forecast stays meaningful.
If HubSpot or Salesforce stays, an agreed split between marketing, pipeline and order data, with order and shipping status returned to the CRM for account managers.

Train across time zones
For a Canadian manufacturer, the value of keeping CRM inside Odoo shows up after the deal is won. A confirmed quotation becomes a sales order, and depending on routes the order can trigger a manufacturing order, a purchase of components or a delivery from stock. When the CRM is a separate tool, someone retypes the order and the configuration details are the first thing to get lost.
What I design so that chain holds:
The production side is covered by Odoo Manufacturing. In CRM terms, the result is a pipeline where the forecast and the production plan start from the same data.
Canadian sales tax follows the place of supply, so the same product can carry different taxes for a customer in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia or Quebec. The tax mapping itself belongs in accounting, and the Odoo Accounting Canada page covers it. What the CRM must do is make sure the quotation knows where the goods are going before tax is calculated.
The CRM-side rules I put in place:
Your accountant confirms each scenario. My job is to make sure the quote a rep sends from Odoo CRM matches the invoice finance posts later, so nobody has to issue a credit note to correct tax.
Canadian companies that sell nationally deal with long distances and staggered working hours. A lead from Vancouver arriving late in the afternoon in Halifax may not be seen until the next day if routing ignores time zones. I set up Odoo sales teams by region, with assignment rules that consider territory and working hours, and a backup owner for each team.
The sources I usually connect:
Field reps covering large territories can use Odoo on mobile to check stock, log visits and send quotes. I test that on their phones before training. For campaign tracking that feeds the pipeline, see B2B lead generation.
Duplicate customers are a bigger problem in an ERP-connected CRM than in a standalone one, because each duplicate carries its own orders, invoices and credit position. Canadian companies have a useful identifier for avoiding them: the Business Number and the related GST/HST registration number that business customers often share on purchase orders and credit applications.
How I use it in Odoo:
When moving from Sage, QuickBooks or an older CRM, I clean on these identifiers before import, not after. The ERP data migration page explains how.
Some Canadian companies arrive with HubSpot running marketing and sales, or with Salesforce required by a US parent. Keeping the existing CRM can be right when marketing automation or group reporting depends on it. Then I define the boundary: the CRM owns leads and early opportunities, Odoo owns customers, quotations, orders and invoices from an agreed point, and shipping and payment status flow back.
The CRM app is part of Odoo Community. VoIP, Studio, lead enrichment and some automation may require Enterprise or paid services, and features move between versions, so I check your edition before design is finalized.

Indirectly, yes. A quotation confirmed into a sales order can trigger a manufacturing order or component purchases, depending on product routes. The CRM part is making sure reps quote real products and variants rather than free text, so the order carries what production needs. I design both sides together.
Through fiscal positions selected by the customer's or delivery address's province, mapping default taxes to the right combination. That only works if the address and tax status are captured on the customer before quoting. Your accountant confirms the scenarios, and I test them with real deals before go-live.
Yes. Each customer carries a language, and quotations and emails print in that language when translations exist. The work is preparing French product names, terms and templates, then checking real documents. I also route Quebec inquiries to reps who can serve them in French.
Yes. I work remotely with businesses across Canada, scheduling sessions to fit Pacific through Atlantic hours and recording training for reps and branches that cannot join live. In-person workshops can be discussed by arrangement where they genuinely help, such as a joint sales and operations design session.
