How does Google Ads consulting work for companies in Spain?
Google Ads consulting for companies in Spain keeps campaigns focused on Spanish buyers: location settings and negatives that stop Latin American clicks, Castilian and, where justified, Catalan campaigns, regional budgets and separate handling for the Canary Islands. I work remotely, track calls, WhatsApp and forms, import qualified deals from the CRM, follow your advisor's consent approach and leave the account in your ownership.

Advertising in Spanish means competing in one of the largest languages on the internet. That sounds like an advantage until a Madrid service firm discovers its ads appearing for searchers in Mexico or Colombia, or a Barcelona company realizes its Castilian-only campaign ignores buyers who search in Catalan. Both leaks are easy to miss, because standard reports rarely make them obvious.
I plan, build and run Google Ads accounts for Spanish B2B and service businesses as a remote, independent consultant. The work covers campaign structure by region and language, keyword and negative keyword management, location settings that keep spend inside the markets you serve, landing pages for Spanish buyers and conversion tracking linked to qualified deals in your CRM.
The engagement runs in English. Spanish and Catalan ads and landing page text come from your own native-speaking staff or a Spanish agency, using the briefs and keyword groups I prepare.
Shaped by a shared language across many countries, co-official regional languages and buyers who like to talk before they buy.
A review focused on where money escapes: foreign locations, Latin American search terms, irrelevant queries, duplicated conversions and campaigns that report form fills nobody followed up.
Structure built around the autonomous communities and cities you serve, with separate budgets where demand or competition differs, such as Madrid, Catalonia or the Canary Islands.
Keyword research in Spanish as written in Spain, with a Catalan campaign where buyers search that way, and copy produced by native speakers for each language.
Shared negative lists for Latin American vocabulary, job and training searches, free downloads, consumer queries and anything outside your catalog, refreshed through regular search term reviews.
Calls, WhatsApp clicks and forms tracked separately, with qualified lead and won deal stages imported from the CRM so bidding values conversations that became business.
A monthly summary per community and campaign covering cost, accepted leads and open deals, plus a pacing view so budgets are not exhausted early in busy periods.

A keyword in Spanish does not know which country it belongs to. Without careful settings, ads written for buyers in Seville can appear to searchers in Buenos Aires, Bogota or Mexico City, especially when the default location option includes people who show interest in Spain without being there. For a company that only delivers in Spain, every one of those clicks is wasted.
I close the gaps in layers:
If you do want Latin American business, it deserves its own campaigns per country with their own budgets, offers and landing pages, so Spanish results stay readable. Exporters can add those markets once the home account is clean. Organic search faces a similar Spain versus Latin America question, which I discuss on my Spanish SEO page.
Spain's co-official languages affect paid search more in some sectors than others. In Catalonia many people search in Spanish, but some business and public sector buyers use Catalan, and their browser or account language may be set to it. Google Ads offers Catalan as a language option, so a separate Catalan campaign targeted to Catalonia, with ads and a landing page in Catalan, is possible. Whether it is worth it depends on your buyers, which is why I check search terms and your inquiries before recommending it. For Basque and Galician, I verify which targeting options exist at the time and whether demand justifies separate copy.
Regional structure goes beyond language. Madrid, Catalonia, the Valencian region, Andalusia and the Basque Country can show very different competition and demand for the same service. Separate campaigns or budgets for the regions that matter most let you see performance clearly and shift spend with evidence.
The Canary Islands need their own attention. They apply a separate indirect tax instead of ordinary VAT, delivery times and costs may differ, and the islands run on a different clock from the mainland, which matters for ad scheduling. If you serve them, they get their own location targeting and landing page details. Tax wording on those pages should be confirmed with your advisor.
Spanish buyers often prefer to talk. A request for an installation, a professional service or an industrial quote frequently starts with a call or a WhatsApp message rather than a form. If the account only counts forms, the bidding system sees a fraction of reality and may favor the wrong campaigns.
I set up tracking for each route and then rank them:
The last step is what turns Google Ads from a click machine into a sales channel. It also requires discipline in the CRM: conversations from WhatsApp need to become proper leads with a source, and sales need to move them through stages. My CRM consulting for Spanish companies covers how those conversations are recorded.
Performance Max comes after this foundation. With thin or noisy conversion data it often drifts toward cheap form fills and brand traffic. Once CRM stages arrive reliably, it earns a larger share only if it matches or beats Search on deals that sales accept.
Tracking in Spain operates under GDPR and the Spanish rules on cookies and electronic communications, and the Spanish data protection authority publishes guidance that your advisor will take into account. The consent banner, the categories visitors can refuse and how tags behave after a refusal are legal decisions. I implement consent mode and Tag Manager settings to match them and make sure reports explain the effect of declined consent on the numbers.
Some sectors carry extra restrictions. Gambling advertising in Spain is tightly limited, and financial products, health services, medicines and alcohol face Spanish rules as well as Google's own policies, which may include advertiser verification. Before any campaign goes live I check which policies apply to your offer and leave legal interpretation to your advisor.
The account belongs to your company: the ad account, its payment method, the tagging setup and the analytics data are all held in your name, and I work through access you can withdraw at any time. Every structure and conversion decision is documented. I take no commissions from vendors or agencies, so recommendations stay independent. If an agency runs your campaigns, I can review its work instead of replacing it. The broader channel view is on my paid marketing consulting page.
I do not forecast costs per click or per lead, because Spanish auctions vary widely by sector and region. What I do explain is how budget is paced across the month, which campaigns receive priority and what evidence would justify more spend. Seasonal patterns matter in Spain, with quieter weeks in high summer and around major holidays in many B2B sectors, so pacing is planned rather than left to run evenly.
Landing pages often decide the outcome. A page for Spanish buyers should repeat the promise of the ad, explain the service in plain Spanish written in Spain, show where you operate, offer a phone number and WhatsApp alongside a short form, and include proof you can verify. I brief your writers on each page and review it against the ads that send traffic there.
Collaboration is remote and in English. Spanish business hours overlap well with India in the morning and early afternoon, so weekly calls fit comfortably. The rhythm is a kick-off workshop with sales and marketing, a weekly search term review, a monthly report and decision meeting, and a quarterly review of the campaign mix. Visits in Spain can be arranged when useful.
Paid search usually works best as part of a wider demand plan, described on my B2B lead generation page for Spain. The general method is under Google Ads management, and the Spain overview lists my other services.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

Usually because the location option includes people interested in Spain, not only those located there, and because Spanish keywords match searches from any Spanish-speaking country. Changing the location option, adding negatives for Latin American vocabulary and reviewing the location report regularly keeps spend inside the markets you actually serve.
It depends on your buyers. If customers and inquiries in Catalonia often come in Catalan, a separate Catalan campaign with Catalan ads and landing pages can be worthwhile. I check search terms and your inquiry history before recommending it, and native speakers on your side write the copy.
A WhatsApp click can be tracked, but it is only an intention to talk. I record it as a secondary action and treat the CRM stage that follows, such as a qualified lead or quote, as the conversion bidding should value. That needs WhatsApp conversations to be logged as leads with a source.
I do not give a figure without understanding your market, margins and sales capacity. We start with the regions and services where buyer intent is clearest, pace spend through the month and increase only when the CRM shows qualified pipeline from the campaigns. No costs per lead or returns are promised.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
