Google Ads India

Paid search that hears how India actually types

How does a Google Ads consultant help Indian businesses?

A Google Ads consultant for India builds campaigns around how Indian buyers really search: in English, Hindi and regional languages, often typed in Roman letters, mostly on phones. I plan keywords and negatives, set city and state targeting, decide where Performance Max fits, align landing pages and import qualified leads from your CRM so bidding learns from real inquiries. The work is remote and the account stays in your name.

Paid search in India rewards precision and punishes guesswork. One product may be searched in English, in Hindi written in Roman letters, in Devanagari through voice input and in Tamil, Marathi or Gujarati depending on the state. Meanwhile the clicks that drain a budget fastest tend to come from students, job seekers and bargain hunters who were never going to buy. I help Indian companies build Google Ads accounts that tell these apart.

I work remotely as an independent consultant, so the person who plans your campaigns also sets up measurement and connects each paid click to the inquiry your sales team logs in the CRM. The engagement runs in English; any Hindi or regional ad copy comes from fluent colleagues of yours or an Indian agency partner.

What I Do

Hands-on account work shaped for Indian demand

Each piece is aimed at one outcome: paid clicks that turn into inquiries your sales team wants to follow up.

Account Review

I go through an existing account search term by search term, checking structure, match types, location settings, conversion actions and landing pages, then rank fixes by how much wasted spend or lost signal each one addresses.

Multilingual Keyword Plan

I research the English, Hinglish and regional phrasing buyers use for your products, decide which languages earn their own ad groups, and keep transliterated and native-script variants organized instead of mixed together.

City and State Targeting

Targeting follows where you can really deliver or service, with metros separated from smaller cities where competition and intent differ, and location options set so ads reach people in a place, not just interested in it.

Performance Max Judgment

I decide whether Performance Max helps or hides what is happening. Where it fits, I set asset groups, brand exclusions and goals; where lead quality matters most, Search campaigns stay in control.

Call, Form and WhatsApp Tracking

Many Indian buyers would rather call or message than fill a form. I track calls, click-to-WhatsApp actions and forms as separate conversions, so a casual chat is not valued like a detailed inquiry.

CRM Conversion Import

I feed CRM milestones such as qualified, quotation issued and order booked into the account as offline conversions, so Smart Bidding favors searches that end in orders over the cheapest form fills.

Hinglish, native scripts and regional-language queries

Indian search queries rarely fit neat language boxes. A buyer of industrial pumps may type an English product name wrapped in Hindi words spelled in Roman letters, while a homeowner in Chennai or Pune searches in Tamil or Marathi, sometimes by voice, which returns native script. Keyword lists built only in English miss much of this, and lists built by machine translation pick up phrases nobody types.

I start from evidence: the search terms report of any existing account, Keyword Planner suggestions, autocomplete and the words your sales staff hear on calls. From there I decide:

  • which queries stay in English ad groups and which deserve Hindi or regional ad groups of their own
  • how to handle transliterated spellings, which vary widely for the same word
  • whether ad copy should mirror the mixed language of the query or stay in plain English
  • which language settings to apply, remembering that Google reads language from several signals, not only the setting you choose

Our working language is English. Hindi and regional headlines come from fluent colleagues of yours or a local partner, because a clumsy translated ad costs both clicks and credibility. I then compare languages on qualified inquiries, not on click-through rate alone, before expanding into more of them.

Negative keywords and city-tier targeting

In India, the costliest waste in a search account usually comes from intent rather than from competitors. Queries containing words such as free, course, salary, jobs, internship, PDF, meaning or second hand attract people who are studying, job hunting or browsing. A negative keyword list built from your own search terms report, reflecting Indian search habits, can matter more than any bid change.

Geography needs the same discipline. Metro markets such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru tend to carry the fiercest competition, while smaller cities and district towns may bring buyers who face fewer local alternatives. Location settings are built around:

  • where you can actually deliver, install or provide service in a sensible time
  • separate campaigns or bid adjustments where metros and smaller cities behave differently
  • the presence option, so ads reach people located in a place rather than anyone who searched about it
  • state-level splits when language, distribution or pricing changes by region

Exporters advertising from India to overseas buyers need a different setup again: campaigns per target country, ad schedules that follow the buyer's working hours and landing pages written for importers, not domestic customers.

Every split must earn its place by changing a decision. Too many tiny campaigns starve automated bidding of the data it needs.

Performance Max, landing pages and the phone-first visitor

Performance Max can find conversions across Search, YouTube, Display, Gmail and Maps from a single campaign. For a business that sells through inquiries, the risk is that it finds the cheapest conversions rather than the best ones, while showing less about where ads appeared. I recommend it when conversion tracking reflects qualified leads, when you have strong creative or a clean product feed, and when brand terms are excluded so it cannot claim credit for demand you already own. Without those conditions, carefully run Search campaigns remain the safer base.

Landing pages decide whether a paid click turns into an inquiry. For Indian visitors, mostly on mid-range phones and variable networks, I check:

  • that the page loads quickly and the main offer is visible without scrolling
  • that the headline repeats the language and promise of the ad
  • that the form asks only for what sales needs, with a phone field that accepts the formats people type
  • that call and WhatsApp buttons are easy to tap and tracked
  • that delivery coverage, minimum orders or service areas are stated where buyers look for them

Where a separate Hindi or regional page is justified, it should be a real page with its own copy, not the English page with a translated headline bolted on.

Tracking real inquiries, consent and the DPDP Act

Counting every form submission as a conversion tells Google Ads that all inquiries are equal. When a share of leads are spam, duplicates, students or callers asking about vacancies, that teaches bidding the wrong lesson. I set up conversion tracking in layers:

  • primary conversions for genuine actions, such as qualified forms, calls above a meaningful length and WhatsApp conversations started from the site
  • secondary conversions for softer signals you watch but do not bid on
  • offline conversion import from your CRM, sending stages such as qualified, quotation sent and order won back against the original click

This needs a CRM that stores the click identifier and source with each lead, which is where my CRM work in India connects to paid search.

Privacy shapes the setup as well. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act brings consent and notice duties for personal data, and its rules are being brought into force in stages. Enhanced conversions and customer list uploads involve hashed personal data, so your privacy notice, consent wording and data handling should be reviewed by your legal advisor before those features are switched on. I explain what each tracking feature sends; your advisor confirms what your business may do.

Google also applies extra verification or restrictions to some regulated categories in India, such as financial services and healthcare. Check current policy before planning campaigns in those sectors.

Budget pacing, account ownership and reporting

Budget conversations often begin with a figure and end in disappointment. I work the other way round: what a qualified inquiry is worth to your business, how many your sales team can genuinely handle, and which cities, products and languages deserve spend first. Daily budgets are then paced so campaigns do not run dry by lunchtime or sit idle on high-intent days, and festive seasons, trade show periods and financial year-end buying are planned for rather than reacted to.

The account always belongs to you. It is opened under your company's Google login and paid with your billing profile; my access is a user seat you can remove whenever you like. Should the engagement end, every campaign, audience list and scrap of conversion history remains yours. Because no platform pays me a share of media spend, my advice on budget carries no incentive to inflate it.

Reports focus on what changed in the business: qualified inquiries and orders by campaign, city and language, cost per qualified lead, negatives added and tests in progress. Clicks and impressions appear as context, not as the headline.

This page covers Google Ads in India; my Google Ads management and paid marketing pages describe the wider method, and the B2B lead generation page for India shows how paid search sits beside other channels. My remaining remote services for Indian firms are gathered on the India hub.

FAQ

Questions About Google Ads India

Only where the evidence supports it. I check search terms, sales call notes and competitor ads first. Many accounts work well with English ads that also capture Hinglish queries, plus Hindi or regional ad groups for particular products or states. Copy in those languages comes from fluent people on your side or a partner, and each language is judged on qualified inquiries.

Yes. Where buyer behavior differs, I separate metros from smaller cities through dedicated campaigns or location bid adjustments, and use the presence option so ads reach people physically in those places. A split is kept only if it changes a decision, because too many small campaigns leave automated bidding without enough data to learn from.

It can be, once conversion tracking reflects qualified leads rather than every form or call, and brand terms are excluded. Without that, it tends to chase cheap conversions and blur reporting. My default is to establish clean Search campaigns and CRM-based conversions first, then test Performance Max against them on lead quality, not on volume alone.

Yes. The account is registered to your business and paid from your billing profile, while I hold a removable user seat. Campaigns, conversion history and audiences stay with you whatever happens. Neither Google nor any other vendor pays me commissions, so a bigger budget earns me nothing extra.

Not honestly before testing. Cost depends on your category, competition, cities, languages and how well your pages convert. I help you set a test budget based on what a qualified inquiry is worth to you, then report the real cost per qualified lead from your CRM, so later decisions rest on your own data.
